Through the years I have seen and experienced many many times where a person that finally forgave someone got suddenly "Healed physically." I have also seen many times when God highlighted in a loving voice someones sin during counsel and when brought to the light, that person gets emotionally healed (the truth shall set you free).
I cant help but to see there is a "spiritual law" in place that is in action.

One could say its the mind that is finally released of guilt but many times this is unknown sin until it is shown by the Lord..

So, what is it that happens when one sins? It may be that God does not get angry or punish but that there is a sort of spiritual "reap what we sow" thing going on?

You have this scripture which I believe really shows something about forgiveness
and I cant help bu to notice that the king delivers them to the "tormentor"

Matt 18:23-35 Therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who wanted to reconcile accounts with his servants. When he had begun to reconcile, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But because he couldn’t pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife, his children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down and kneeled before him, saying, ‘Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all!’ The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. "But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him one hundred denarii, and he grabbed him, and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ "So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will repay you!’ He would not, but went and cast him into prison, until he should pay back that which was due. So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told to their lord all that was done. Then his lord called him in, and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt, because you begged me. Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?’ His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due to him. So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don’t each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds.

If we take this parable to be about the principle of forgiveness we see that the LORD delivered the person to the tormentor" so I dont believe this falls into a "reap/sow"?????

Then you have this:

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.

So we have sin and sickness tied to each other.

Anyone have any incite into what this "spiritual thing" is that is legalistic, if you do this, this will happen to you?

Thoughts?

I was just thinking how unforgiveness can become an idol of our heart. We can look at someone who did us wrong and feel oh so undeserving of the treatment we were given. The longer the grudges, unforgiveness, anger, hatred and worry are held, the harder it is to release them. Didn';t Jesus talk about strongholds in our lives?

After a time we believe that noone was treated worse than we were and we just keep going over and over in our mind what cruelty has been inflicted on us by another person. Then, we want judgment and we want it NOW. Some people cross the line and go so far as to murder someone for what has been done to them. Others, find some kind of payback that won't land them in the slammer. Either way, we are holding onto this idol, that we pull down everyday off the shelf of our minds, so we can worship our opinions about right and wrong justice.

I was watching a show about a mass murderer who had to listen to the loved ones of those he killed. Most of the victim's families said he should go to hell and they hated him. But, there was one man who said although what he did caused much grief and sadness, he forgave him because that's what God wants him to do. You could see tears coming down the eyes of the accused. I thought that all that anger and unforgiveness didn't move him one inch, but the forgiveness of one man was what touched his spirit man. Mabe it isn't that Jesus doesn't forgive us when we don't forgive others, but, that we know we are truly undeserving of forgiveness when we don't forgive others. Just my opinion.

Shibboleth
I never thought about it as an idol but you are very correct :mshock: :mshock: :mshock:
My mother likes to view things from a negative view and its amazing how much she can find to worry about :mshock:
That idol is very strong in her, without it, I think she would feel very uncomfortable.
