May I share? its just something to share and for others to "search the matter" out.

We had a teaching in our church on who lucifer was, lucifer was adam while he was in his glorified body and when he sinned lucifer (adam) fell.

i'm at work at the moment but when i get home later tonight i shall post my notes from the teachings.

I am not saying "this is correct, only we know and you should listen" - please i am not saying that, it is a point of discussion and for your references should you wish to further explore this teaching.

Peace-n-blessings
GC

Although I do not believe in pre-existance, I can see the relationship of how the Serpent was Adam. How can you explain that there is three people/things receiving a consequence. Adam who blamed Eve, Even who blamed the Serpent. Adam receives a curse, Eve receives a curse, and the Serpent receives a curse.

I am going to keep it as "short" and as "simple" as I can.

Lucifer: H1966, hêylêl BDB Definition: Lucifer = “light-bearer”, shining one, morning star

G5459 phōsphoros From G5457 and G5342; light bearing (“phosphorus”), that is, (specifically) the morning star (figuratively): - day star.

Where in scripture is this Greek word (phosphoros) found?

Quote:
2Peter 1
:16 For not having followed fables having been cunningly devised, but becoming eyewitnesses of the majesty of Jesus Christ, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord.
:17 For He received honor and glory from God the Father, when was borne to Him a voice from the excellent glory, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
:18 And we heard this voice being borne from Heaven, being with Him in the holy mountain.
:19 We also have a more sure Word of prophecy, to which you do well to take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Daystar (G5459 phōsphoros) arises in your hearts,
:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture came into being of its own private interpretation.
:21 For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.

Daystar here … is Jesus. And Lucifer is the son of the morning star

Quote:
Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! ...

satan is not a son. A son is an heir, satan is not an heir especially to the throne or the kingdom (I'm sorry if this is too short but i am keeping it simple). Lucifer is a son of the morning (Isa 14:12)

Quote:
Revelation 22
:16 I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify these things to you over the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright and Morning Star.

(Interesting to note: Lucifer: only used once. Phosphoros: only used once.)

Satan is not a man, Lucifer is Adam.

Thats all I could find out of my notes, this was shared more than a year ago so my notes are pretty scattered. Any questions or if anyone else would like to share it would be greatly appreciated.

Peace n Blessings
GC

Sorry GC,

I agree 'Lucifer' is a man, and by extension is actually Adam. But that is not what this article was about, this article is about why did Jerome use Lucifer and not Haylel and where the demonic imagery of Satan came from. This is not to discourage you, "Lucifer" is found nowhere in Scripture....ZERO.

That is okay! I think what you have to say is awesome because not many people recognize that 'person' who fell, was Adam :)

So start new thread and dig deeper for us to read! :D

I just didn't want confusion.
