Just my devotional time this morning jumping off of the verse Heb 5;14 and how I see that verse in the context of inner priesthood over the thought realm.

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Heb 5:8

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Heb 5:10 Called of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Heb 5:11

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

Heb 5:12

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Heb 5:13

For every one that useth milk is unskillfull in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

righteousness:

b) integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting

what we think on we create/act out from!

Heb 5:14

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

I was struck by how it is my experience in that to me it is all about coming to know what is profitable to mediate on.

For what we give our focus too we create from and it colors our entire world and becomes our experience.

Jas 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
Jas 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Jas 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Jas 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

solid food/strong meat=

Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Jas 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

A high priest of the order of Mel is one that the Son/Mind of Christ is priest over his own inner thoughts and creates out from the Kingdom within that is pure! This is how the sons are manifested, they manifest that which is first pure, peacable.......etc.....because that is what they meditate upon, for out of the heart are the issues of LIFE.

Hey GiL: Yes, ma’am! The process of growing up many times involves some “exercise” that is most unpleasant. No pain – no gain comes to mind! (I hates working out, but I do it anyway. Maybe, quoting the “exercising my senses” part of Heb 5:14 will help. aye?) :laugh:

And I love those admonishments in James! They help us keep our center when going thru trials – even those involving our deep seated beliefs! James 1:17 -20 may be my favorite. :tu:

All I can say is: Amen, Sis! Amen, indeed - Thanks for sharing! :giveflower:

In His Love, John (still a growin’ up work in progress) :bh:

Yeah, you know, I never appreciated James much before now! What a blessing those verses are.

God is Good!

I remember my early 'gain through pain' exercises (physical/emotional/spiritual). I had a simple policy: "Do everything "I" don't want to do all day - everyday". :mshock: It worked! :tu:

Well you know me - I've always appreciated all the books - reading through my special (extra thick) B.S. blocking/spiritually enlightening heretical glasses! :laugh:
