hmmm. I've never even heard of Bob Barr until I clicked on this!
Thanks for posting it. (I don't watch tv, so half the time I don't know what's going on... once Mike Gravel got pushed out, I stopped caring. I always vote for the 3rd party candidate, anyhow. it is NOT A wasted vote. I HATE when people say that. People are so brainwashed... Duh. Having your say is what voting is all about.) hmmm, now I'm going to have to research Bob Barr. Thanks Dawn! :)

Dawn,
That was a great post. The lesser of two evils - this is food for thought, Dawn!? This is how I feel about it and I know it is not the popular view indeed, but on this forum of Bernie's - (what is popular?). I believe that the popular position is wrong anyway and it is the few that got it right not the many. This you can find in Scripture with several examples. Now to the point.
I do not know the exact will of God. I do not know how he is going to work out in a pecise way His plan for the salvation of mankind. But I think it is fair to make this observation. And that is what ever happens to man/woman on this planet or more accurately described as a tiny speck of sand hanging on nothing in the universe, is going to be what God wants! Everything is in accordance with His will Eph 1:11 & Eccl 3:1.
It seems Dawn, that God wants things to turn out very bad at this piont. We have entered the "event horizon" in human history IMO. Just like in a real event horizon - even light that enters this region will never escape - so we also will not escape what God has planned. The vast weight of current events are in favour of crossing that threshold of NO RETURN!!
As your very serious video of Ron Paul or the article of Seymour Hersh begin to make a case for Iran point out. This is as serious as cancer - this is no joke any more as events reach critical mass!
I believe the place in human history that very noble people like Dr. Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Bob Bar and Seymour Hersh have is that they play the "role" of "prophets" warning those that have ears to hear of the impending doom to come. TO ALL others their message sounds absurd! Their solutions to our difficulties will not carry the day! And if these events continue to intensify as they appear in the coming months and years we can now tap into the expertise and vision of the men for guidance. Which goes contrary to the tide of current "Wall Street" or "Political" wisdom" that exists! We can now become educated from these gifted men as to the real state of affairs in this world.
I believe it is not wrong to try and bring about change for the better - but if it is God's will to sent a "lying spirit to Ahab" then it is enevitable that Ahab with make all the wrong choices!! Just like our leaders - whether they be in government or on Wall Street. That is how I look at it - does that make any sense?
John

I remember a friend saying.. "it's got to play out to the bitter end.."
It's almost as if... whatever isn't LOVE, whatever is opposite of Love...and the seemingly countless ways that can be expressed (non-love) has to just..like my friend said "play out to the bitter end."
I don't like to be negative, but part of me really just thinks that a "politician" isn't really going to do anything.
It just has to play out....
maybe that's why we've come here.
for it to just let it all play out and get it all out of our system, so to speak.
so we never have to exist in a place of anti-love ever again.
so we can fully appreciate and REVEL in the place OF LOVE. (with our Father.)
well, just some stuff that's been rolling around in my head..

Hi John and Sparrow,
Thank you for your well thought out responses. Yes, I do tend to be more pessimistic than optimistic on the impending future of the U.S. and the world.
Quote: I do not know the exact will of God. A big amen to that John and that is the only true hope that I do have. That regardless of what happens, its all under His control. How many times have we individually prayed for what we thought was the right answer and it turned out to be totally different...and yet have the same result? Quote: It just has to play out.... maybe that's why we've come here. for it to just let it all play out and get it all out of our system, so to speak. so we never have to exist in a place of anti-love ever again. so we can fully appreciate and REVEL in the place OF LOVE. (with our Father.)
And that's what I mean by the result. The result will be PERFECT like our Father. The road to perfection, although it seems so dark and scary at times, will ultimately lead to that place of Love sparrow. I have a smile on my face today. Many "messages" from God delivered to me by His children. All hope is not lost and I have to watch that I don't let these things bring me down.
Instead, I need to focus on that perfect result. Thanks guys for helping me find my smile today.
Love,
Dawn

But Jesus said to him, "Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.” Mt 26:52
But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” Mt 12:25
I believe that the only place of unity in the universe is God. Eventually all those who are not aware of being hid with God in Christ and are trying to protect themselves from enemies will eventually self destruct; take one another to the grave.
I think I'm saying the same thing.

In the Early 1950's President Harry S. Truman was quoted as saying: "There isn't a nickels worth of differance between a Democrat or a Republican when it comes to poitics on the Hill" and I think most of us here are already aware of that, I wanted to vote for Ron Paul but the powers now in place have done all they could to minimize him and push him aside as a no count because he doesn't fit the typical stero type traditional immage of what they want in a President, they are to be honest poitical cowards with power and money who are afraid of the light of truth that shines within Ron Paul and they either scoff at Ron Pauls views or are afraid of losing the power they do have. I suppose one could still vote for him on the write in line. What are those now in power afraid of? The raw open Truth? it certainly appears so.
Reminds me of that verse in Ecc where it says that there is no new thing under the sun , the thing that has been done shall be done, just like the Ocean tide when it is low
we know that in due time the tide shall be high again without fail. High and low tides are nothing new under the sun. The only thing that seems to move in one direction are the ages, the time.on the calander here under the sun.
Peace,
Fire Walker

That's what I was going to do Fire Walker, but then someone told me that writing in his name won't even be counted since you have to register as a "write-in" candidate and Ron Paul hasn't done that. I think most Paul supporters are now either supporting Bob Barr (Libertarian) or Chuck Baldwin (Constitution). I'm going to wait and see who Ron Paul endorses and then probably go with that. Of course, I'm still hoping something really crazy happens and he ends up getting the Republican nomination...call me crazy LOL I still haven't even taken my Ron Paul signs down yet and probably won't until after the election!
Here are the websites for those two candidates in case anyone is interested in checking them out. I know Chuck Baldwin is a close friend of Ron Paul and worked on his campaign.

It really is a breath of fresh air to see so much corncern with the things that are very important. It seems that most people respond to what is going on in global markets and military sabre rattling in the same way as in 70AD - when the vast majority of Jews went to the Temple and played BINGO or money changed as the Roman legions gathered outside of the city (Jerusalem). The general rule of thinking would be "look at those soldiers out there - maybe we could invite them in for a BINGO game" ! I find poeples general responses to Ron Paul JUST as frustrating! They actually think he has losed his mind!
I have absolutely no vision as to where this is going for today but the markets are way down all over the world due to a banking crisis. Gold is up and Israel is threathening IRAN!!! Keep are eyes peeled!

Dawn,
I know this is an older thread and am revisiting this thread now that we Know that Obama is the President elect of the US to take office on January, 20th, 2009. The reason I revisited this tread is that I was just wondering, have you paid much attention to who Obama has picked so far for his cabinet? I have done a little research on a few of his cabinet picks and some of them are the same folks from the past that got us into the things that lead to the very mess we are in today, it seems change would require new heads and a breath of fresh air instead of the samed old status quo folks from past administrations with nothing new but their changed political, rank and power after being picked to be placed in their designated cabinet positions, kind of like a political game of musical chairs.
Let me know if you also see some of what I have mentioned here coming together for the new incoming Administration.
One thing is for sure, Obama is coming into office during a very dark time and he is only a flesh and blood human being like the rest of us, so yes we pray and hold onto hope that the best shall prevail and that our Nation can spiritualy heal from all the evil that has been sown during these recent and many past decades, and as you know niether a paint job nor a band aid works on such a need, it has to come from deep within the very heart and core of our Nation.
Peace,
Fire Walker
